How long will it usually take to get my order?
We aim to create and dispatch all orders within 1-3 working days. Please double check your address prior to checkout, as our packing team work fast and we won't always have time to change it for you if you type it in wrong. During busy periods like launches or holidays the dispatch times may be slightly longer but we are always working hard behind the scenes to get them out as quickly as possible.
After your order has been dispatched, if you have chosen standard delivery, Royal Mail usually takes 1-3 working days for UK orders. If you have chosen Express Tracked, it should be with you within 24 hours after your dispatch date.
For international orders please allow an additional 8-12 working days.
What are the best pens to use in the books?
Any of our Calm Over Chaos pens have been designed to perfectly compliment our paper products!
For Water Based Pens: These world and glide perfectly with all our high quality paper products and have no bleed through!
For Alcohol Based / Permanent Markers: We have exclusive, magically coated bleedproof paper that these work a dream with. For marker fans please check out our Butter The Mouse book and Elements Sheets!
What is the Colourable Storage Box upgrade?
Our Colourable Storage Box is a fun packaging upgrade - your order is shipped inside one of our sturdy boxes designed to be coloured in and kept. Larger orders may automatically be packed in one of these, but by choosing the upgrade you are guaranteed to receive one regardless of your order size.
Because the box doubles as your shipping parcel, it may pick up marks, scuffs, or weather damage like rain during delivery (99% of boxes arrive perfectly fine, but it can happen). Please note this is considered part of the packaging process - we do not offer refunds for packaging that arrives with damage. Resolutions are of course offered if any of the products inside arrive damaged.
Bear in mind what you are ordering - if you only have one or two small items inside, they may move around and get a little bashed about. Our team does their best to pack everything carefully so it arrives safely, but it is always possible with shipping.
Which countries do you ship to?
We are a UK based small business and we ship worldwide! Shipping prices are calculated automatically at checkout. Due to the new GSPR regulations actioned on the 13th December 2024, we have momentarily had to pause all orders to the European Union, however we are working hard to resume shipping to these countries asap! Follow our socials for further updates!
U.S. Tariffs & Import Fees - what will I have to pay?
Will I have to pay extra tariffs or fees when ordering from the U.K. to the U.S.?
Possibly. As of August 29th 2025, the U.S. government is changing its import rules. Previously, orders under $800 were duty free - but this exemption is being removed.
- Books: Our books are made in the U.K. from paper, which usually means they remain duty free. However, there could still be added fees if the U.S. applies an IEEPA charge.
- Pens: Pens are made in China, so they fall under new U.S. tariffs. Customers may see import fees ranging from 29% to 40% of the pen cost.
Why is this happening?
This is not something we control - it comes down to decisions made by the U.S. President and their trade policies.
How can I stay informed?
If you are in the U.S., you will need to check your government’s current import rules before ordering. These policies are set by your leadership, not us.
What if I do not agree with the fees?
We completely understand the frustration. Please know these extra charges are not added by Calm Over Chaos - they are imposed by U.S. import rules. If you would like those policies to change, the best route is through your elected officials.
EU Customs, Duty & Taxes
Some orders may attract import duty and local sales taxes if they are being delivered within the European Union and internationally.
The sender (Calm Over Chaos) is not responsible for paying these costs and it is the responsibility of the customer to pay and ensure that these costs are checked prior to placing your order.
What is the Colouring Quest?
The Colouring Quest is our magical bimonthly colouring subscription designed to spark creativity and calm. Every two months, you will receive 5-10 brand new colouring pages with imaginative seasonal themes. Each set is designed to feel like part of an unfolding adventure, with subscribers even getting the chance to vote on upcoming themes.
Your pages arrive ready to slot into our Once Upon a Colouring binder (sold separately), so you can collect and treasure your growing library of artwork. It is the perfect mix of relaxation, creativity, and a little bit of fairytale wonder delivered straight to your door.
What is the Binder?
The 'Once Upon a Colouring Binder' is a one-off purchase that can be made at any time on our website, and includes 5 swatching sheets for free!
You can order a binder without the subscription and a subscription without the binder. But they fit perfectly together. Please note: if you order a binder alongside a subscription it will be sent out with your subscription once they are released.
Each binder should hold approximately 2 years worth of sheets and are sustainably made with high quality materials & special gold foiling.
Do the books come with pens?
No, all pens are an add on item and do not automatically come with the books. If you would like pens with your order please choose that option at checkout.
Can I return my item?
Items must be returned within 30 days of purchase and be unused, in perfect condition in their original packaging.
Refunds or exchanges will be given only if the packaging is unbroken or the product is faulty. We have the right to refuse returns of any orders that are not returned to us in a resalable condition. Buyer is responsible for return postage costs and any loss in value if an item isn't returned in original condition.
Please note that it may take up to 10 days for your returned items to be received by us.
It may take a further 5 working days for us to process your refund after receiving it.
Mystery Bundles/Personalised Items & Returns Roulette Disclaimer:
Due to the nature of Mystery Bundles, Returns Roulette and Personalised Items, we can only accept returns if your order is damaged. Swaps for different products are not accepted - if you hope to receive a specific product, we recommend ordering that product from the shop, as the mystery bundles are just that - a mystery. :)
Reporting Faulty Products
Please inspect your order upon receipt of it and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged so that we can put it right.
If you are unhappy with the quality of your order you need to email support@calmoverchaos.co.uk including your order number and any photographs to highlight the issue.
Shipping Address Responsibility Policy
At Calm Over Chaos, we are committed to ensuring that your order is processed and delivered promptly. To help us achieve this, we kindly ask you to double-check all shipping details before completing your purchase.
Please note:
Incorrect or Incomplete Address: It is the customer's responsibility to provide an accurate and complete shipping address at checkout.
Delivery to Wrong Address: If an incorrect address is provided and the order is successfully delivered to that address, Calm Over Chaos cannot retrieve the package or redirect it. In this case, it will be the customer's responsibility to either recover the parcel from the provided address or place a new order.
Reordering Due to Address Errors: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds or replacements for items delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer.

What is your return policy for the Christmas period?
