I love these pens. I don't expect them to be big, bold colours like the main set because that's not what they're designed for. But I LOVE using these for my backgrounds, especially on pages where the main illustration or words are the focus of the page but I don't want to leave the background white. They're perfect for this.
I was slightly sceptical with these pens as using them with the water pen I thought they looked washed out when wet BUT when they dry they POP! I was so impressed, they’re incredible. Softer, lighter colours are great for wanting less bolder colours. I love them!!
Dead nice pens. Good quality paper.
I just got this pastel set for christmas (I have purchased numerous other sets as well), however the colours do just not seem to blend like the other ones. They leave large areas looking very streaky and the water brush doesnt help atall. I would definitely recommend some of the other pens but these ones are not it if you want a polished look. In the picture below I used the glitter pens and my other brighter colours and the pastels in the middle and background.
So these pens unfortunately aren't for me. I tried using them how instructed in all the videos, but they always turn out extremely streaky, see the sky and grass in the attached image. It seems like the pens have no ink half the time, even following the exact same stroke technique they just don't lay colour down which means it dries and then you get the streaky drying patches. At first I thought it was because they are pastels but they really just seem to not work properly. A couple work far better than the others but most of them don't. It's a real shame.
