A Little Light In A F*cked Up World is Millie’s eighth colouring book and her second 18+ release. Created for anyone navigating a world that feels heavy, messy, and overwhelming. Filled with bold illustrations and unapologetic, swear-filled phrases, this book makes space for anger, hope, humour, and softness to exist side by side. It’s not about fixing yourself or pretending everything’s fine, it’s about finding small moments of light, release, and joy, even when things feel far from okay.

I honestly didn’t expect to fall in love with colouring again—but these Calm Over Chaos alcohol markers completely changed that for me.
I picked up the full set along with a couple of their colouring books (Butter the Mouse and Be a Little Light in a F* Up World), and wow… I’m genuinely obsessed. The pens are incredibly smooth to use and so beautifully pigmented. Colours glide onto the page effortlessly, especially on bleedproof paper, which makes such a difference. There’s no streakiness—just clean, vibrant colour that blends really nicely.
Colouring has become such a calming, almost therapeutic part of my routine now. I used to hate it, if I’m honest—but now I actually look forward to it every evening. It’s become my little wind-down ritual, and it genuinely helps me switch off.
One of the nicest surprises was that the pens are double-sided. You get a broad brush tip on one end and a fine liner on the other. I personally prefer the brush side, it’s super smooth and great for filling in larger areas. The fine tip is handy for details, although I do find it slightly scratchy compared to the brush. That said, it’s just a personal preference and doesn’t take away from how lovely these pens are overall.
I’ve also noticed that the colours don’t always match the pen lids exactly, but it’s only a slight difference. I’d definitely recommend doing a swatch sheet—it makes choosing colours so much easier and avoids surprises.
Another huge win: my mum tried them out because she was curious, and she loved them too! That says a lot.
I’ve enjoyed using these so much that I’ve already bought another book (Lost in Time Activity Book) and even gifted a set of pens and a book to my friend for her birthday, I’m genuinely excited for her to experience them.
The books themselves deserve a mention too—the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, and you can tell a lot of care and creativity has gone into both the designs and the pens.
These pens have completely changed my relationship with colouring. They’re high-quality, relaxing to use, and perfect for anyone wanting a creative escape.
You can really tell there’s been a lot of thought and effort put into the product. I personally have the alcohol marker set, so I can only speak for those but based on my experience, you won’t be disappointed.
I never thought I’d say this but I genuinely love colouring now.
I bought this book with bleedproof paper as I also bought the full set of alcohol markers. It is wonderful! I love all the images and phrases/quotes and I am really enjoying colouring whenever I feel like it! Thank you for creating a great colouring book and I can't wait to grab some other ones!
I purchased this book because I wanted to try out the bleedproof paper with the alcohol markers. I have to say I'm impressed with how well it takes the colour and after multiple layers of ink going down on the page, not a single bit has gone through to the other side. Fantastic!
I don't always love slogan colouring books and only picked this one up because Butter was briefly out of stock. Well, I am pleasantly surprised! The word based format of these pictures offers a lot of consistency which makes it feel safe to experiment and practice new techniques in a small space. Every page is unique and interesting, but not too challenging for a beginner like me. The pens go on lovely and I'm just generally having a great time with them. I like that the cover is blank so that I really get to customise my book.
I’m relatively new to colouring and after seeing Millie’s pens, I ended up hyper fixating and wanting to get everything!
I bought this in the bleedproof paper and it is so thick and luxurious. I’ve used the dompamie markers and daydream corner markers, and they’re soo smooth and creamy. Better than a lot of markers I’ve used before.
Love love love, colouring this book brings such a smile to my face. The slogans just make me so happy!
