This set is an incredible bundle the amount of colours and pens you get for the price is better than any other stationary company. The colours are just wow and they’re great for any type of paper. My only niggle if I can find one is that the lids don’t fit on the pens when colouring them which means I’m always trying to find where I put the lid and I prefer the original thickness of the pens, these are slightly thinner which isn’t bad but I prefer slightly thicker pens for gripping, other that those little niggles these pens are fantastic!
I bought this bundle when it was released as a Christmas present to myself, I used them for the first time 2 or 3 weeks back - and have been using them on the 2026 calendar. I've owned various calm over chaos products, which were all of really good quality.
They arrived quickly, well packaged and the packaging of the pens is nice.
Across the pens, I don't love the new barrel - I've found the slimmer pen exacerbates pain in my hands, so they're harder to use and I can't use them for as long. I understand the intention was to make them more comfortable, but this didn't work for me unfortunately. I also struggle with the new lids, the wavy lids make them uncomfortable to cap and decap - which is quite a task in itself since they take a good bit of force (though this potentially could help with reducing them drying out?). They still blend quite well.
The skin-tone pens I haven't had much chance to use yet, so I don't have any specific comments on those.
The "standard" colours - I like the new range of colours, though I do still think some of them come out quite similar. For me the most disappointing element was the inkiness; they seem a lot drier than the previous 24 set of brush pens (of which I've had two). They've not been inky or smooth, quite dry and streaky instead - I used one of the reds (phoenix) and not only was it quite dry but also before I'd even finished a page it had gotten so dry that it was difficult to use, almost as if it had run out already?
The pastel set colours are really pretty, they start especially pale but do brighten up a bit as they dry. I've had similar problems with them not being inky or smooth, but quite dry - and because they're so pale the streakiness is really highlighted.
I'm not sure if this is worsened by the paper of the calendar which I've found I can't use the aqua brush on without it pilling - but when I use pens from my old 24 set they are nowhere near as streaky on the paper.
I don't know whether I just got unlucky with the packs I got, but I don't think I would opt to repurchase these - certainly not the pastels. They seem much creamier and smoother in the Instagram clips, but as a buyer this isn't the experience I've had at all.
This bundle is PERFECT for all brush pens lovers! You have plenty of shades to choose from between the rainbow set, the pastel set, and the skin tone set - but the choice isn't overwhelming.
The ink goes on really smoothly, blending is so easy (check out the tutorial videos if you're struggling!), and the selection of colours is fantastic. I genuinely can't find a critique of these pens. They're incredible - please don't ever discontinue these!
I was so excited to get the Calm Over Chaos multipack, and it honestly has everything I wanted. The mix of skin tones, pastels, and vibrant colors makes it super versatile, and I love having all the shades together in one set. It feels like the perfect all-in-one bundle, and I’m really happy I finally grabbed it!
I didn’t thought I would fall in love with these type of pens. Once I started, it bends lightly onto the paper and no feeling against the paper and pens. It’s beautiful. Flows gently, like a paint brush. Smooth and calming ✨💜
